This document describes the draft proposal of applying the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Unit, HeatPower 300 Marine, in a 2-stroke engine cooling system to produce electricity onboard from waste heat and thereby save fuel and reduce emissions. The ORC Unit shall be able to produce up to 220-355 kW, pending selected version and availability of waste heat. Two (2) sources of waste heat shall be utilized to operate the ORC: • Available heat dissipation of M/E jacket cooling water • Excess steam: Evaporated steam from M/E exhaust gas boiler and possible G/E economizers, except steam consumption from other steam consumers (Additional heat sources can also be evaluated, G/E HT Cooling & Scavenge Air Cooling Heat, if applicable in project) Jacket cooling heat shall be considered as base heat for the waste heat recovery by the ORC Unit, and waste heat from excess steam shall be considered as supplement as this is intermittent and not always available.
